Ducks and Swans

Our room had a view of the lake on one side and the walled garden on the other.  I don’t have a picture of the real life family of cygnets – only three days old when we arrived with all the cute fluffiness appropriate to their age – but in this blurry photo from the window you can just about see the bronze ducks and ducklings who also live beside the lake.

Who’s that on the bed?

At first glance I thought the hotel had kindly provided a cat to sleep at the foot of the bed - sadly not, but this woolly cushion was the next best thing.
